While You Were Away
So this is what our classroom looks like when everyone is away for the summer. These photographs were taken after the old carpet was torn out and replaced with shiny new tile. Looks like there is some work to be done to get ready for the first day.

Test Taking Strategies Song
The students are learning new test taking strategies on a weekly basis. Last week, the students learned a song to help them remember the new strategies thanks to Miss Perez and her students. The tune is to London Bridge. A copy of the song has been added inside your child’s green homework folder.

Great First Day!
We had a wonderful first day back. The morning began with wonderful Caribbean steel drum music filling the entrance way to the school. The students and I spent the day getting to know each other with various activities and reviewing rituals and routines. We participated in an awesome assembly presented by Bruce Junek, who shared amazing pictures of he and his wife, Tass, exploring the world mostly on bicycles. The children loved the stories and photographs.
